Compost Bin With Bottom Door

Description

This compost bin could easily utilize salvaged wood or re-purposed pallet wood, if you have some of that laying around. It’s designed to be filled from the top, and then has a hinging door at the bottom in order to easily remove compost from the bottom of the pile.

A single bin is approximately 3 feet cubed. You can use a single one, or a common implementation is to build three of them side by side so you can move compost from one bin to the next instead of (or in addition to) mixing the compost.

Plans include full, detailed instructions, 3D drawings of each step, a materials list with parts numbers, and the original Sketchup file in case you want to modify it yourself.
